I sometimes forget to dump off the random pictures that I snap from my phone so it seemed like a great time to do it. We all love us a little Gangnam Style.....starting our day with some invisible pony dancing.

Today was picture day at Paul's school.....practicing his smile before school.
Along with the Hello Kitty slippers came a cool set of Spidey pj's with super special flying wings.
I have learned plenty about being a mother to two over the last month. 1. It feels like I will never have a well organized home again. It was controllable with one but feels a bit out of control with two. Maybe time will tell. 2. I have taken for granted how great it is to have a potty trained child. Diapers stink in a myriad of ways. 3. Finding a theme for a family Halloween costume becomes infinitely harder with four people to include. We have landed on a super hero theme for 2012 and will need to determine if we will be able to continue the tradition next year. 4. Monkey see, monkey do runs very true in this house now. If one wants to be held then both want to be held and by the same parent. If one gives mom a kiss then the other heads over to do the same (can't complain about that one!). 5. The amount of **insert word here** has increased far more than double. Food, laundry, clutter, tears....laughs, hugs, kisses. 6. Baths are far more fun with two kids in them. Although we are thankful that little miss was bathing alone when she had an "incident" in the tub. That might have just scarred poor little Paul. He thought it was pretty funny when he heard what happened and we were quick to inform him that he did the same thing twice when he was younger. 7. Paul has always been a tattle tale and he is relishing that status as a big brother. Sometimes it is helpful (Mommy, Lillie is starting to climb up the stairs) and sometimes not as much (Mommy, Lillie is playing with my toy). We are working on it. 8. We have been blessed with two wonderful - albeit SLOW - eaters. See #5 above. I think we should buy stock in a dairy farm with the amount of milk and cheese that we burn through. 9. I am pretty darn happy that we decided on a full-sized bed for Paul when we upgraded to his big boy room. It came in REALLY handy when I was sleeping with him last night after a bad dream frightened him. However, as a woman on the taller side of the spectrum, there is a definite difference in the length of the king sized bed to which I am accustomed and the aforementioned full sized bed. 10. When all else fails, there is always macaroni and cheese. Words to live by in this house.
It was a perfect day for fall soccer league and made even more special by a visit from Gram and Pa. They drove up for the afternoon just to see Paul play.

We can really see so much progress in the last few weeks. Lillie is more relaxed and her personality is coming out more and more each day. She is so spunky and has a great laugh. The last few days have really been pretty good. Paul has been on pretty good behavior and we have found some fun stuff to do. While we never wanted to wait this long to bring Lillie home, the one benefit is this wonderful weather to enjoy! Jason mentioned today that one month ago we were boarding a plane to Korea....seems hardly possible.
We had our first post placement visit with our social worker this morning. All went well and we had a nice time visiting with her. One down and three to go until we can finalize after the six month waiting period. It was a good day filled with great moods from both kids. Paul and I hit the library while Lillie napped and then we all went for a nice walk when she woke up. Paul got to pick dinner...so we went to Buffalo Wild Wings (of course). And then we surprised them with a trip to the ice cream shop. Her first trip to BWW.....

I love fun days like this....they aren't all like this so you definitely have to enjoy them when they come!
Only in the midwest can we go from shorts and t-shirts to jeans with jackets in such a short period of time! And you just never know when you might need to pull the shorts out again.....so we aren't quite ready to change out the dressers and closets. After story time at the library, Lillie and I took a nice long walk to the park. Someone needed a little snack when we arrived.....
And was so happy to share it with me.....
Paul's daycare/school had a super cool family picnic tonight at a local park. They were so generous to provide all of the food....and some cool balloon animal makers too! Paul wanted a dragonfly and got to pick the color of the wings....he chose black and white. The whole thing was pretty cool and lasted about 90 minutes before he popped part of it.
Little miss spent most of the evenings just strolling around.

We had a lot of fun at the picnic and then came home to get the kids to bed. Check out this hilarious video of the kids in the car when we got home.
Paul got some mail from Gram today and had to open it before bed.....don't mind the shirtless child but she was partway through getting on her pj's.
Gram sent a cool letter and lots of pictures from our trip to Korea...including pictures of the trains that passed by our hotel rooms. Watching the trains was a highlight of Paul's trip.
It turned out to be a fun day. Tomorrow brings our first post placement visit with our social worker. Here's hoping that both kids are in reasonably decent moods!
The weather is getting chillier which means it was time to buy some new fall jammies. I knew Paul would pick the Batman jams tonight - he is so predictable. I was planning to put Lillie in her new Hello Kitty jams but Paul wanted her to wear Tinkerbell instead.....so she wore Tinkerbell! And so began the task of attempting to get a picture with both kids in their jammies, facing the camera and even possibly smiling.....a task that didn't go so well for me tonight.
I think Paul was checking for Santa up the chimney with his trusty flashlight.

It was a good day.....Paul was well behaved and no meltdowns...hurray! It was "A" day at school so he got to take in squeezable applesauce as his "A" item. And then he got to eat it in the car on the way home. He was thrilled. It is sometimes the little things in life that make it all worthwhile....even squeezable applesauce!
