Happy Halloween from our little musicians

We bought Lillie a drum for her birthday that also came with some other fun noise making fun.  Both kids have enjoyed putting on little concerts.

She has mastered the "cheese" face.....with our Halloween shirts (and socks for her as well).  Both kids looking at the camera WITH smiles....winner!

A funky drum beat....

Maraca shaking lady....

So cute!

The Great Pumpkin has a creepy look on his face, but wishes you all a very Happy Halloween!

Trick or Treating - Super Hero Style!

Given Paul's current love of super heroes, we saw it fitting to go with that theme for our family costumes this year.

Introducing....Captain America!

And his sidekick SuperGirl!

And the whole family.....mom starring as Wonder Woman and dad as The Hulk.  See the smile on SuperGirl's face when daddy did not have his Hulk mask on.....

And her cowering into my shoulder when he put the mask on.  I had a feeling the mask might scare her and it did.  Jason had to walk behind us all night so she didn't freak out.  But, everyone in the neighborhood thought we were a pretty cool super hero family!

Annual tradition of having the grandparents come up to visit.

Our favorite Super Girl hanging in the wagon.

Hey guys...show me your muscles!

He had SO much fun this year.

And he even pulled Lillie in the wagon for a while.

Brave man hanging with the skeleton in a neighbor's front yard.

After 45 minutes of trick or treating, Paul decided he was ready to be done.  He hopped in the wagon and we headed home.

We had to finish up by trick or treating at OUR door....Paul was excited and Lillie was ready to be done.

Surprise GranJo!
 Hugs from Gram.

Rosy cheeks from the cold.  We bundled the kids up in lots of layers but it was still chilly.

Checking out his loot!

She got a taste of her candy haul.  Quite a treat indeed.

I think she wanted more.....ha!

Paul had a blast handing out candy after we got home.  He would race to the door every time the doorbell rang.

It was a fun Halloween for our family of four!  Lots of anticipation and planning and then it is over quickly.  It is fun to enjoy it all through the eyes of the kids.....mostly Paul this year since Lillie was just a cute sidekick along for the ride.

Lillie's second 2nd birthday!

We had a small family party today to celebrate little ladybug's 2nd birthday.  Since we missed her 1st birthday it sure seemed appropriate to celebrate her 2nd birthday twice!  There were decorations, cake and yummy dinner....oh and a few more presents.  We had lots of fun with the grandparents today.

Hello Kitty theme.....giant balloons rule!

Paul helped me pick out the decorations and got to help decorate today too.

The birthday princess!

Party hats...check!

Peak-a-boo with seaweed.....

YUM!

Beautiful cake (NOT made by me!).

Hey Paul, you have a party hat on your face.....

She's learned her "CHEESE" face....and it is one of her favorite words now.

Hello beautiful.

Family shot....best one out of 20 that were taken.

Time for singing and candles....

And more frosting by the finger.....

Time for presents before heading to bed....someone didn't take a nap today and was getting pooped out at the end of dinner.  Gram gave her a beautiful bracelet that her mom gave to her!

Pororo baby carrier for her dolls and stuffed animals (Paul had to help with the opening again).  Thanks GranJo!

Cool new adoption book by Todd Parr.  Thanks Gram and Pa!

Princess backpack....I think Paul liked this too (he's got a bit of a thing for princess stuff right now).  Thanks Kingston!

What a blessing to be surrounded by family to celebrate.  No hanbok pictures yet but we need to work on it.  It is all about the timing, the moods, etc, etc.

Cheating fall

How can you enjoy another 70+ degree day in late October and not feel like you are somehow cheating Mother Nature?  It was rainy this morning (and some threatening clouds this afternoon) but the temps were great so we headed to the park.  When I handed Paul his clothes today he acted like I had made a mistake in giving him a short sleeved shirt....ha!

Love this boy (with his tantrums and occasional bad behavior and all).  With a face like this, who could ever get frustrated with this kid?  HA!

She OWNS the park....or so she thinks.

Waiting for someone to come help him on the monkey bars.

Playing on the "big kids" playground this time.

 Mommy....you coming or what?!?

Aahhh, the digger.  Check out the HUGE hole that he dug.

And then he had to check out the HUGE hole that he dug.

Finishing our trip on the swings.

Tandem swinging....

Paul likes to swing pretty high....goofball.

What a blessing that I was home today.  I love the freedom that we have right now to get out and enjoy our time together as a family.  We know the colder weather is coming and likely for good which limits some of this type of fun....so we enjoy every last stolen minute of nice weather!
