The scooter
Earlier this year Paul used his Easter gift card from Mimi to buy a scooter. We hadn't had a chance to get it out of the box until recently and it took him a little bit to get the hang of it but he is now the scooter pro. He has wiped out a few times but keeps getting up and getting back at it. I think he is the cutest little scooter rider ever.

Memorial Day
It was a nice day on the Monday of Memorial Day weekend so we made the most of it.....lunch at Ruby Tuesdays where Lillie just had to get her picture taken in front of the pretty red flowers.
Then we headed to a park to run off some steam before we headed to the movie theater to see Home. We had tried to go the day before when the weather was rainy but evidently everyone else in our area had the same idea so the movie was sold out. And since we had promised the kids we would go, it meant we had to go sit in a theater on a perfectly nice day outside. But I digress....at least we had a little park time before the movie.

And then does a super jump.....
Plenty of smiles to be had.
Lillie was pretty proud of herself when she mastered this swinging bridge. She was scared of it at first and quickly caught on and didn't want to leave it.

The end of first grade
I am still in disbelief that Paul has finished his school year already. We officially have an almost Second Grader....just a short summer between Paul and Second Grade. He really enjoyed his year with Mrs. Verlengia and his friends.
He got this cool certificate for all of his hard work.
Our annual tradition.....can't wait to see him grow into his shirt as he gets closer to 2026! Mrs. Verlengia was really a great teacher for him and encouraged his love of learning.
Just before leaving for his last day of school.....he looks so old.
He was pretty excited.....
He got to choose where we ate that night....and he chose the diner that serves the huge waffle with strawberries. I totally thought he would choose HuHot but I guess the diner is giving that old favorite a run for its money.

Disney 2015 - Day 7 - Round Two of Magic Kingdom
We let the kids sleep in just a bit since we had been out so late the night before.....and then we got up to attack our last day in the parks. Back to Magic Kingdom for lots of rides and fun. You can't beat another picture in front of the fabulous castle.
After an evening with Peter Pan, they got to meet Tinkerbell too!
First stop was our second trip (via FastPass) on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. We all loved it just as much as the first time.
From there we let the kids decide what rides we wanted to ride....either stuff we had done on our first day in the park or new rides to try. Big surprise that It's a Small World was first on the list. HA! From there we headed over to Tomorrowland since we hadn't spent much time there on our first visit. The Buzz Lightyear ride was pretty fun - and clearly we were very focused on shooting our lasers.
We hit up the Tomorrowland Speedway where we let the kids drive....safely on the rails of the track of course. We separated into the ladies car and the boys in the other. Check out our smiling faces....
We have two very crazy drivers on our hands....heaven help us when they are ready to drive real cars!
Daddy rode Space Mountain while the three of us hit up the Barnstormer again. This time was cool because Paul got to ride in the roller coaster car by himself while Lillie and I rode behind him since we couldn't ride three across. He was super proud of his age 7 skills.
And then it was time for Lillie's big moment....her meeting with Anna and Elsa from Frozen. I thought her head might explode but she held it together. It was such a great experience and the characters were so great with her.
From there we grabbed a quick bite to eat - another home packed lunch and we found an awesome spot to sit in the shade at an actual table with chairs....and phone charging stations if you needed them!
With food in our bellies, the kids were begging for Big Thunder Mountain again so that is where we headed.....and didn't have to wait nearly as long as we did on the previous visit. We wanted to ride Splash Mountain but we never did find a time that the line wasn't at least 45 minutes and alas we had no Fast Passes!
We had to ride Pirates of the Caribbean just one more time and then head for our Pirate League makeovers. Can you sense the pirate theme to this trip? This was such a great experience and super cheap for Disney. It was a great recommendation from a friend and we are so glad we signed up for this experience.
First up the kids go to pick their pirate names using a complicated system of a wheel and big dice and a big book.
Paul picked the zombie pirate and then his makeover began. He wasn't having any fun at all.
Lillie selected the empress pirate package.....which included nail polish which was a first for her. She was clearly excited.....
The makeup was a little much for me but she loved the sparkly dust and the face jewel.
The pirate oath or a high five....you decide.

And then they were whisked away into a secret room for some super cool photos. I love my pirates!
And just like that we had armed pirates on wheels....watch out Magic Kingdom!

And here's where the wheels fell off the bus when we pushed it a bit too far. We had missed the opportunity to visit with Baymax and Hiro from Big Hero 6 when we were at Hollywood Studios so we grabbed a bus and headed back over to see if we could make it happen for the kids. Bad idea because the line was long and the wait was estimated at 45 minutes. The kids wanted to stay so we stuck it out. When we were 3-4 families back from our meet and greet, they went on break. And then we melted down. We ended up waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes before the kids finally got to the head spot in line.
We were all pooped and hungry so we headed back to the room and ordered pizza for dinner. I worked on packing, Jason returned the stroller to the front desk and had to make a second trip to print our boarding passes since he forgot the first time and Allegiant charges to print them at the airport. Lucky guy.
We got the kids to bed and tried to get ourselves to bed at a reasonable time. I had a 3:30am wakeup to get cleaned up, get everyone else cleaned up and make it to the front desk by 5am for our car service. The unfortunate part of the Allegiant non-stop flight is your have no choices in flight time....so early it was. We headed to the airport in the pitch dark but everyone was in a really great mood. Paul slept a little on the way and Lillie just hung out. We made it through security and grabbed some breakfast and pretty soon it was time to board and end our fun Disney adventure. Our travel day was uneventful.....with some naps when we got home and a very low key day. It was a nice day to get back to reality.

Disney 2015 - Day 6 - Pirates and Pals Fireworks
We headed back to our room after our fun day at Hollywood Studios and had a little relaxation time. We made our third dinner in the room (have I mentioned how much we loved having a full kitchen) - pancakes and canadian bacon. Kids were thrilled.
We got changed and headed out to our favorite bus stop to catch a ride to Magic Kingdom for our walk to the Contemporary Resort. Love these kids and love these shirts.
We arrived at the Contemporary and checked in for our Pirates and Pals Firework adventure. I highly recommend this experience for people who are concerned that their kids won't be able to make it for the 10pm fireworks show. I knew the kids wouldn't be able to sit on a curb in the park to wait for the fireworks to start so this was a great alternative. We received our special pirate bandanas upon check in and were told we had to wear them in some fashion so they knew we were a member of the experience that night. I got the kids settled with theirs on their heads.....and then started to wrap mine around my wrist. When I turned around I saw Jason with his on his head and my jaw dropped open. I love my husband but he isn't always a joiner when it comes to this stuff.....imagine my surprise when he eagerly slapped that bandana on his head. So I headed to the bathroom and put mine on too. Here's our pirate family selfie.
The doors to the pirates ballroom opened and the kids found a large selection of treats and drinks and snacks. Both went for ice cream treats.....and were pretty pumped with their choices.
The decorations were really great and Paul loved this pirate.... but not enough to share his ice cream treat.
Funny guy had to pick the nose of a pirate.
We got to meet Captain Hook and Mr. Smee from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. We weren't expecting the character experience so that was a fun surprise.
And then it was off to board our pirate ship....aka the shuttle type boat that didn't look at all like a pirate ship. We had a funny pirate guide and laughed a lot during our boat ride. Ultimately we dropped anchor right in front of the Magic Kingdom entrance and had the best view of the fireworks. They pipe in the music that you would hear in the park so it was an authentic experience. The kids oohed and aahed and loved every minute.
The fun continued on the way back to the Contemporary with some fun trivia and prizes. Lillie won a bracelet and Paul won a Captain Hook hook. He's my favorite goofball.
When we arrived back at the dock we were surprised with a visit from Peter Pan.....once again we weren't expecting yet another character experience. The kids were excited and loved their time with Peter Pan.
We snagged a cab back to our hotel and we all fell into bed....it was after 11pm and we had a busy day ahead of us as we enjoyed our last day in the parks. The kids did great with such a long day.
