I took a quick trip to San Francisco for work. While I was gone, Gram and Pa came up to help distract and entertain the kids. Looks like I missed a lot of fun!
Some reading....
And building some tall towers.....
Lots of smiles!
Say cheese!
I love the look on Lillie's face....
A little fun in the snow.
I enjoyed some milder temps, a fun meal with Amanda, a stellar work conference and time to actually read a book on the flights! This was my first time away from Lillie overnight and it went just fine for all of us. It sure was nice to be back and get big hugs from both kids!

New Year's Eve....house party style!
We are not big NYE people....too many crazies out there! We prefer to keep it low key and stick close to our house. This year we invited our friends Amber and Nick and their son Kingston for some food and fun. Paul and I headed to the party store for some party supplies - he had a lot of fun picking everything out. Hats, horns, beaded necklaces....and tattoos of course.
While cute and celebratory...this tattoo was mighty hard to remove!
Kingston wasn't so sure about his party hat so Paul tried to distracted him with a horn.
Showing his horn blowing skills!
Time for dinner.....wearing our party hats!
Little ladybug didn't want to wear her special party crown. We even found one with cool purple feathers but sadly she refused.
My boys in their party gear.
After dinner it was time for some game playing...Paul had been talking smack all day about beating Nick in Wii bowling.....he is actually a pretty decent Wii bowler.
Think he was having a good time?
Final score - Nick won but Paul had a respectable 134!
They moved on to Wii tennis....check out the fun!
The little ones had lots of fun playing together too....Lillie is 3 months older and she was certainly not shy to boss Kingston around!
What a fun time we had closing out the great year that was 2012. The last few weeks of the year was filled with family and friends and I wouldn't want it any other way. I am not so sure that 2013 could top 2012 for our family but we will just have to wait and see I guess!

Christmas wrap up
As though we needed anymore gifts around here....but we had some final Christmas presents to open from Uncle Chris. Nothing like stretching the holidays over several weeks!
Think he was excited for another present to open?
A fun Thomas game....
Lillie is getting much better at ripping off the paper after so much practice.
And we had to break out the game and play it immediately!
Thanks Uncle Chris.....sorry we didn't get to see you at Christmas.
